Protecting the Environment: Everyone’s Responsibility

Our environment is increasingly polluted due to human activities. Climate change, depletion of natural resources, air, water, and soil pollution directly threaten human health and the survival of our planet. Therefore, environmental protection is not only the responsibility of governments or large organizations but also the responsibility of every individual.

The Current State of Environmental Pollution

Today, the world faces many serious environmental problems such as: Air pollution from vehicle emissions and factories; Water pollution from industrial and agricultural waste; Soil pollution from pesticides and chemical fertilizers; Biodiversity loss due to deforestation and illegal hunting; and Climate change due to the greenhouse effect.

Negative Impacts of Environmental Pollution

Environmental pollution causes serious consequences, directly affecting human health, such as respiratory diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer. In addition, it causes floods, droughts, soil erosion, and lack of clean water, threatening socio-economic development.

The Role of Individuals in Environmental Protection

Every citizen can contribute to environmental protection through practical actions, such as:

  • Reduce plastic bag usage: Use reusable cloth or paper bags.
  • Save energy: Turn off lights and water when not in use; use energy-efficient appliances.
  • Sort waste: Separate organic and inorganic waste for recycling and efficient waste disposal.
  • Plant trees: Planting trees helps clean the air and reduce the greenhouse effect.
  • Use public transportation: Reduce emissions from personal vehicles.
  • Limit the use of plastic products: Use environmentally friendly alternatives.
  • Save water: Use water sparingly and avoid waste.
  • Educate and encourage others to participate in environmental protection.

Protecting the environment is the responsibility of the entire society. Only when each individual is aware of their role and responsibility can we build a green, clean, beautiful, and sustainable living environment for future generations.
